EXECUTIVE PROFILE

Jocelyn "Bebot" Rodriguez is a graduate of South City Central School and Lourdes College for her secondary education. She successfully completed her Nursing degree at Cebu Doctor’s College. Following the attainment of her license, she embarked on a professional journey in the United States of America, specializing as a psychiatric nurse.

In 2007, she was the first woman to be elected as Punong Barangay of Barangay Nazareth and served that position with a sterling record for 11 straight years until 2018. With a tough brand of leadership, compassionate service, and excellent administration, she gained the 3-time “Sandugo National Award for Outstanding Local Government Executive Barangay Award” from the DILG.

True to her campaign tagline “ANG PROBINSYANA”, Bebot is the true embodiment of the genuine representative of the voiceless, those in the peripheries of the city’s development, those who are left behind, and the ordinary citizens desiring to be heard by the government.

In 2018, she was elected as City Councilor representing the second district of Cagayan de Oro. As an active member of the City Council, she became known for crafting legislative measures that benefit the poor and marginalized. She was the principal author of CdeO’s first Mental Health Ordinance aimed at addressing mental health issues in the community, particularly among Kagay-anon youth.

As councilor, she fought for the release of social amelioration and the city’s calamity funds during the COVID-19 pandemic to help the Kagay-anons in need. She was the “fighter” during those critical times holding the administration accountable against alleged corruption in “ayuda” funds.  To encourage vulnerable populations such as senior citizens to take vaccines against COVID-19, she donated her salary to purchase grocery package.

In 2022, she was elected as the third female City Vice Mayor of Cagayan de Oro winning a landslide victory of 178, 162 votes. As the Presiding Officer of the 20th City Council, she has already proposed various ordinances which advocated for her platform of governance on Health, Education, Employment, and Development. Renowned for her tough stance on various issues, she makes sure that people’s voice is heard loud and clear in the halls of the City Council.

In October 2023, she was elected as one of the Board Members of the Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines (Regional Chapter). Consequently, she was elected as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Mindanao in the National Chapter.

Bebot Rodriguez is married to Raynor T. Fulgencio and is a mother of two beautiful twin boys, Angelo and Gabriel.

VM Bebot Rodriguez Advocates for Cooperative Development

With the theme “Cooperatives: Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow,” we proudly celebrate National Cooperative Month this October, as anchored in Republic Act 11502. This month serves as a reminder of the vital role cooperatives play in fostering community spirit and driving economic progress.

In today’s dynamic socio-economic landscape, where individuals often face challenges in achieving financial stability, cooperatives emerge as partners in promoting inclusive growth and social equity. By pooling resources and working together, cooperatives empower their members, promote financial stability, and create a more just and equitable society.
