Urban Poor Comm endorses lot donation at Zone 8, Carmen
During its recent meeting, the City Council Committee on Urban and Rural Poor and Housing Development, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, endorsed for approval the proposed ordinance, authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to accept and sign the Deed of Donation between the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, as the donee, and the Frances Memorial Parents Foundation, Inc., as the donor, concerning a parcel of land situated in Sacred Heart Village, Zone 8, Carmen.
This after the foundation's representative cited the absence of open space for recreational purposes in the Sacred Heart Village Community since the school premises were turned over to the City Government.
The board of trustees of the foundation, during its meeting on July 3, 2023, agreed to donate the 176 square meters vacant lot previously occupied by the demolished cooperative building. The purpose of the donation extends beyond the construction of a multi-purpose building to include the provision of space for playground activities and various social endeavors. The donor also assured the existence of an egress and ingress/road right-of-way leading to the donated property and for the transfer of the title of road lots to the city.
The foundation will also shoulder the donor’s tax, while the City will pay for the documentary stamp tax fee, and the registration fees at the Registry of Deeds of Cagayan de Oro, among other associated costs.
