Subdivision Comm endorses payment to building owners affected by road project in Tablon

THE City Council Committee on Subdivision and Landed Estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas favorably recommended the approval of the request for fund appropriation to lot owners whose properties were affected by the city project.

The Gavel learned that City Mayor Rolando A. Uy requested the City Council to grant him authority to charge an amount from the current appropriation for a total of P1.7 million to cover payments for improvements of building owners affected by the 10.00-meter-wide proposed road from National Highway towards Tablon Hospital, an infirmary facility of the city government.

During the meeting, Councilor Cabanlas clarified that the identified lot is situated under a free patent title which is why the appropriation covers only for the buildings or improvements of affected owners.

Accordingly, a free patent title is a grant by the government given to a natural-born Filipino citizen who is not an owner of more than 12 hectares of land and has continuously occupied and cultivated it.

With this, the committee referred the request for an appropriation to the Committee on Laws and Rules also chaired by Councilor Cabanlas for appropriate action.
