Subd cmte tackles Bulua plea for multi-purpose center lot

The City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas discussed the request of Barangay Council of Bulua to utilize the property owned by the city government for the proposed multi-purpose center of the said barangay.

During the meeting, Councilor Jose Pepe S. Abbu, Jr., also a former Bulua barangay official, recalled that the barangay council adopted a resolution asking the city to use its property under Usufruct Agreement for a period of 50 years, adding City Mayor Rolando A. Uy already gave his go signal on the matter.

Representative of City Assessor’s Office confirmed to the committee that the said lot is owned by the city and it is identified as part of the barangay road. The lot was abandoned and it was not utilized anymore, he said.

The City Administrator manifested there is no proposed project plan by the city government in the area and favorably recommended consideration of the request.

The property is located at Zone 6, Bulua with an area of 39,390 square meters.

The Barangay Council proposed to build in the said lot a two-storey multi-purpose center and offices of senior citizens, women, Persons with Disability (PWD), Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and livelihood center.

Councilor Cabanlas asked City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), City Mayor’s Office (CMO) and City Assessor to submit to the committee a written recommendation relative to the request.

He said the committee will tackle the matter again during its next meeting.
