Subd Cmte acts on request of Tablon residents
For the benefit of the residents of Barangay Tablon, the City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas recommended that a one-meter area from the border of the proposed Tablon hospital property be set aside for the passageway of the landless residents living at Purok 4 of the said barangay.
During the meeting, a representative of the barangay council informed the committee that residents requested they be provided passageway especially in cases of emergency.
The Gavel learned that the property acquired by the city government for the construction of the Tablon Hospital has affected the old pathway in the area. Based on the development plan, only 6 meters has been allocated for passageway of the proposed hospital. In response to the query of Councilor Jose Pepe Abbu, Jr., barangay officials said at present the size of the lot they are currently using is only 3 meters.
For his part, Councilor Aga Suan suggested to look for an alternative way for their emergency exit, saying that the six-meter lot is also very essential since it is intended for hospital use. As this developed, the committee set an ocular inspection on March 16, 2023 to determine the actual situation of the area. Also present during the meeting were Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane, vice-chair, and Councilor Roger Abaday, member.
