Suan thanks DSWD for educational assistance
COUNCILOR Aga G. Suan on Monday aired his gratitude to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for its educational assistance program.
“We believe na ang intention gyud ani para matagaan ang underprivileged og dako kaayo ning tabang sa katong nakadawat ug makadawat pa,” he cited.
The councilor said although the distribution and logistics of the DSWD Educational Assistance for qualified elementary, secondary, and college students, were not perfect, the assistance is still a big help.
“Maybe we can improve sa next distribution … in the end the intention is pure …” the councilor said.
Through the DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Educational Assistance Program, qualified students receive P1000 to P4000 financial aid depending on their current level of schooling.
The program is part of the DSWD’s services for the poor, marginalized, and vulnerable or disadvantaged individuals, The Gavel learned.
DSWD-10 regional director Ramel F. Jamen was invited to attend Monday’s regular session to shed light on the distribution in the city of the educational assistance for qualified elementary, secondary, and college students.
