Suan airs request of brgy dads
COUNCILOR Lordan G. Suan on Monday presented to the City Council the letter-request of two barangay chairmen that they be allowed to personally present their side on the distribution of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) Special Ayuda in the city.
“I am asking that we approve the request and allow the barangay captains to personally air their side and express their explanations here and afford them the same courtesy that we afforded the officials last week, the opportunity to be heard,” the councilor explained.
It may be recalled the 19th City Council last week invited representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD), City Administrator’s Office and Office City Treasurer to shed some light on the matter.
“There were explanations given by the resource persons ug sa atong pagtuki sa maong mga issues milutaw ang akusasyon nga adunay mga kapitan nga uncooperative sa pag distribute sa maong cash ayuda. Tungod niini nikalampag ang uban mga kapitan. This allegation has put them in a bad light as they have become the center of blame and ridicule in their respective constituents,” Suan reported.
He said the barangay chair are willing to submit themselves to rigid investigation and requested that they be invited to the plenary with representatives from concerned offices.
The matter was referred to the Joint Monitoring and Inspection Team (JMIT) headed by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), which is tasked to address complaints or grievances regarding the financial aid.
