SP sacks admin cases of former barangay officials
THROUGH separate resolutions, the 20th City Council, during its regular session on Monday presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, adopted the order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, dismissing the administrative complaints filed against barangay officials of Cugman, Bugo, and Puntod who lost in the last barangay election or whose terms already expired.
Said barangay officials are facing administrative cases for grave misconduct, oppression, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of government service, violation of Section 3 (e) of RA 3019, and violation of RA 6713.
The Blue Ribbon Committee recommended the dismissal of said cases for being moot and academic considering that the respondents are no longer members of their respective barangay councils.
The resolutions were sponsored by the Committees on Ethics and Blue Ribbon and Laws and Rules both chaired by Councilor Cabanlas.
