SP rescinds MOA with NMIC
Through an ordinance, the 20th City Council, on its regular session Monday, rescinded the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered into by and between the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the National Meat Inspection Commission (NMIC) on May 13, 1998, covering the use of an 800 square-meter City-owned lot located at the compound of the City Abattoir in Barangay Cugman, considering that the property is no longer needed by the latter for its intended purpose.
The lot was previously used by NMIC for its Meat Laboratory. In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Rolando A. Uy said that City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis informed him that the NMIS has already vacated the area since June 14, 2019.
Under the MOA, if the said lot is no longer needed for the purpose, it will be reverted to the City together with the improvements or facilities thereon.
