SP Oks use of lot for Triple A Poultry Dressing Plant
THE 19th City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance approving the segregation of a four-hectare portion of the city-owned 14.8- hectare lot located in Barangay Pagalungan as the site of the proposed LGU-operated “Triple A” Poultry Dressing Plant.
The project will be funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) under the Philippine Rural Project (PRDP) for budget year 2022.
It was learned that the first LGU-operated Poultry Dressing Plant with an export quality standard in Northern Mindanao will also cater to the neighboring municipalities of Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon.
The site was found to be ideal and most advantageous for the construction of the facility because of its proximity to a water source which is the Iponan River. An access road is also being constructed in the area connecting Barangay Pagalungan to Barangays Lumbia, San Simon and Pagatpat.
The ordinance, which amends Ordinance No. 13729-2019, integrates the facility area as a component or means of livelihood for the intended beneficiaries of the Socialized Housing Program/Resettlement Site of the city government.
The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on agriculture, on subdivision and landed estate and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Jay R. Pascual, Edgar S. Cabanlas and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
