SP oks SK budget of Brgy Macabalan

IN its Monday regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council returned as operative the 2024 annual budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Macabalan.

The budget, sourced from 10% of the barangay’s general fund as mandated by Republic Act 10742, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, amounts to ₱2,209,237.00.

The budget will cover for personal services of SK members, as well as maintenance and other operating expenses, including office supplies, travel, and training expenses.

A significant portion of the budget, ₱952,052.00, has been allocated for youth development and empowerment programs. These initiatives focus on key areas such as health, active citizenship, economic empowerment, environmental stewardship, education, peacebuilding and security, social inclusion and equity, governance, global mobility, and agriculture.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees of Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
