SP oks MOA with CEM

IN order to give equal opportunities to all applicants of the 2024 College Scholarship Program of the city, the 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez during its regular session, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Klarex Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Center for Educational Measurement (CEM), Inc. for the use of CEM’s Readiness Test for colleges and universities for screening and selecting applicants and evaluating their performance to qualify in the City Scholarship Program for SY 2024.

Under the MOA, CEM will provide the test instruments, always ensure the confidentiality, security, and smoothness of the test incoordination of the LGU-CDO City Scholarship Committee. For its part, the city will recruit and process the application of candidates for the scholarship program, provide the test site for the safe, secure, and successful conduct of the test, and pay and prepare the list of registered examinees.

Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, Chairman of the Education Committee and one of the sponsors of the approved ordinance, said the partnership is a great opportunity for all the incoming first year to finish their schooling and have a bright future.


The legislation was also sponsored by the Committee on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
