SP okays SK Brgy. 18 budget

IN its 93rd regular session, the 20th City Council presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved a resolution returning as operative the 2024 annual budget of Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. 18.

The budget, with an estimated income of ₱480,000.00, is derived from ten percent (10%) of the barangay’s general fund, in line with Republic Act 10742, known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. The allocation includes funds for the personal services of SK members, as well as for maintenance and other operating expenses, such as office supplies, training, and travel.

A significant portion of the budget, totaling ₱204,500.00, has been earmarked for youth development and empowerment programs on education, health, environmental sustainability, active citizenship, peace-building and security, governance, and economic empowerment.

The said resolution was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and the Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
