SP okays payment of internet subscription of barangays

AS part of the program of the city government to provide free wi-fi connectivity for barangays, the 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez during its regular session enacted an ordinance authorizing the City Accountant to charge an amount to cover payment of unpaid internet subscription billings of several barangays.

At a monthly rate of ₱5,000 per barangay, the city government allotted ₱105,000 for the November 17, 2023 to December 16, 2023 internet bills of Barangays Carmen, Macanhan, Macasandig, Camaman-an, Bayabas, Bugo, Puerto, Nazareth, Macabalan, and Barangay No. 1.

Also included are Barangays Cugman, Kauswagan, Bonbon, Barangay Nos. 5, 15, 12, 17, Bulua, Consolacion, Lapasan, and Tablon.

The ordinance was sponsored by the Committees on Finance, Budget and Appropriation, and on Laws and Rules respectively chaired by Councilors Yan Lam Lim and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
