SP bats for payment for land affected by Macahambus road project
THE 20th City Council, during its regular session Monday, enacted an ordinance appropriating ₱406,592.50 to fully settle the claim for just compensation, including registration and documentation expenses, for a property owned by Batangas Land Company.

The property, located in Barangay No. 16, was encroached upon during the construction of the 8.00-meter Macahambus Road in the 1990s. The encroachment remained undiscovered until 2021, when the landowner filed a compensation claim.
The decision was based on an updated Appraisal Report dated September 13, 2024, which reassessed the property’s value using current sales data.

This report replaces the earlier appraisal dated October 18, 2021, ensuring fair valuation in line with current market conditions.
The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the City Council committees on subdivision, and landed estate, on finance, budget, and appropriations, and on laws and rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Edgar S. Cabanlas and Yan Lam S. Lim.
