SP backs operation of water supply system project in Oro
THE 19th City Council during its regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy adopted a resolution endorsing and/or interposing no objection to the application of Mindanao Cooperatives Water Service Federation (MCWSF) to operate a level three water supply system in communities with insufficient water supply.
It was learned low supply of water in the First District of Cagayan de Oro City has been a perennial problem and lingering complaint of residents.
Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) has admitted its inability to permanently solve the problem due to financial resource problems.
With this, the participation of the private sector or cooperative in the supply of potable water especially in the Western part was a welcome solution espoused by several sectors of the city.
MCWSF has responded to the call and has presented its competence, capability and experience in the operation of a water service system.
The matter was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on public utilities and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Teodulfo E. Lao, Jr. and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, respectively.
