DURING its 102nd regular session, the 20th City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved the 2024 annual budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Taglimao, with an estimated income of ₱421,001.00.

The approved budget, sourced from the 10 percent SK share of the barangay’s general fund, is in compliance with Republic Act No. 10742, or the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015.

Of the total budget, ₱105,192.00 has been allocated for personal services, while ₱75,809.00 will cover maintenance and other operating expenses.

These expenses include provisions for travel, training, office supplies, materials, internet subscription, repairs and maintenance of office equipment, fidelity bond premiums, and membership dues to various organizations.

The remaining ₱240,000.00 is allotted for SK youth development and empowerment programs, which aim to enhance services in health (including adolescent sexual and reproductive health), equitable access to quality education, youth employment and livelihood, capability building and leadership training, and environmental protection initiatives, such as climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction and resilience (DRRR).

The budget was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
