SP backs ₱42.2-M OSCA budget for 2025


THE Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) will have a budget of ₱42,296,520 next year.


This, after the 20th City Council, during its regular session presided over by Councilor Romeo V. Calizo, approved the city’s 2025 annual budget of ₱8.8 Billion.


Of the amount, ₱15 million was allotted for senior citizens pension, ₱12 million for birthday cake, ₱200,000 for the Search for Outstanding Senior Citizens Chapter, ₱500,000 for senior citizens program (Elderly Week Celebration), and ₱300,000 for support to socialization days.

The OSCA’s budget also includes allocation of AICS for senior citizens’ burial assistance in the amount of ₱5,000 per claimant, centenarian reward for 11 senior citizens amounting to ₱100,000 each, city-wide year end celebration, and the monthly honorarium for 150-chapter presidents at ₱1,000 each.


Councilor Yvy Emano is the chairman of the City Council Committee on Senior Citizens.
