SP authorizes use of city-owned lot for socialized housing project in San Simon
THROUGH an ordinance, the 19th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy authorized the National Housing Authority (NHA) Regional Office 10 to use the city-owned property lot in San Simon.
The property, which covers an area of 112,198 square meters, will serve as a socialized housing project particularly the development of the Cagayan de Oro Resettlement and Socialized Housing Project-5 (CDOSHP-5), pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the NHA-10 and the city government.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno informed the legislative body that the city and NHA-10 have already entered into a MOA covering the P50 million financial assistance under the latter’s Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) for local government units.
He said the amount is intended for the construction of 164 housing units for the relocation of the informal settler families (ISFs) affected by the implementation of various government infrastructure projects and/or destruction of the ISFs’ homes due to
natural and man-made disasters in the city.
It may be recalled that the City Council enacted separate ordinances granting Development Permit for the proposed project and approving the MOA for the purpose.
