SP authorizes Mayor Uy to sign DODA for Project ACE

Through an ordinance, the 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to sign the Deed of Donation (DODA) with World Vision Development Foundation, Inc. covering various supplies and equipment donated to the city government.

This covers the implementation of the Project Against Child Exploitation (Project ACE).

The Gavel learned that the donation will be used for the implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Strategic Helpdesks for Information, Education, Livelihood and other Developmental Interventions (SHIELD) program in pilot areas.

Based on research, ACE seeks to strengthen governments to address the worst forms of child labor, including the online sexual exploitation of children, and promote acceptable conditions of work through a unified and participatory approach in the Philippines and Vietnam.

The ordinance was sponsored by the committees on labor and employment and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Joyleen Mercedes L. Balaba and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, respectively.
