SP authorizes Mayor Uy to file petition for intervention in COWD vs COBI dispute

THE 20th City Council, headed by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy through the City Legal Office to file a petition for intervention in two special civil cases filed by Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) against Metropac Water Investment Corp. (MetroPac) and Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc. (COBI), with 14 voting in favor.

The legislative body, likewise, designated Majority Floor Leader Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas as representative of the 20th City Council to act as an observer in the court hearing of the said special civil cases.

It may be recalled that the Regional Trial Court issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) to COBI, Rio Verde Water Consortium Inc., and MetroPac, to prevent them from cutting off bulk water supply to COWD.
