SP authorizes Mayor Klarex Uy to transfer funds to DepEd-CDO


THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, representing the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education– Division of Cagayan de Oro (DEPED-CDO), represented by its Schools Division Superintendent, Mr. Roy Angelo E. Gazo covering the transfer of funds in the amount of ₱2,873,200.00 from the CY 2024 Special Education Fund (SEF) to the DEPED-CDO.

These funds will cover expenses incurred during the 2024 Palarong Pambansa held in Cebu City for the period July 05-17, 2024


The purpose of this MOA is to comply with Section 4.1 of Commission on Audit (COA) Circular No. 94-013, which reads: “The Source Agency shall enter into an agreement with the Implementing Agency for the undertaking by the latter of the project of the former”.


In his letter, Mayor Uy said that the expenditure of public funds for the said DepEd activities was duly appropriated and approved by the Local School Board per Resolution No. 11, series of 2024.

The said MOA was thoroughly reviewed by the City Legal Office and found the same to be in legal order.


The legislation was sponsored by the Committees on Education and on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilors Suzette Magtajas-Daba and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respetively.
