SP approves updating of CLUP for 2019-2027

Through a resolution, the 20th City Council on its regular session yesterday, presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez, approved the proposal or plan to conduct updating of the City Land Use Plan (CLUP) of the City of Cagayan de Oro for 2019-2027 pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 2021-005 of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.

In his letter, City Mayor Rolando A. Uy said the updating of the CLUP is imperative to make it more responsive to the demands of spaces and changes in the area requirements for production, residential housing and settlement, commercial and business establishments and other facilities to support socio-economic activities.

It may be recalled the previous City Council adopted Resolution No. 13255-2019 for the purpose of extending the planning period of the CLUP of Cagayan de Oro City from 2013-2022 to the current 2019-2027 or a 9-Year/Term-Based projection by a Chief Executive.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on planning, research and innovation and people’s organization accreditation and on laws and rules, both chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
