SP approves SK annual budget of Brgy. Carmen
IN its 75th regular session on Monday, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council approved as operative the Annual Budget for CY 2024 of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Carmen.
The Barangay Carmen SK estimated income, totaling ₱10,123,909.00, was sourced from the barangay's 10% Development Fund in accordance with RA 10742, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, aimed at supporting various youth programs and projects within the barangay and ensuring the meaningful participation of the youth in nation-building.
Key projects and programs outlined in the appropriation by SK Carmen include the Esterong Hero Clean and Green Program, socio-cultural activities, capacity-building initiatives such as leadership training, active citizenship, and global mobility.
Additionally, funds were allocated for health services focusing on adolescent sexual and reproductive health, social inclusion and equity, education, anti-drug abuse efforts, environmental protection and climate change adaptation projects, as well as youth employment and livelihood programs.
The resolution was sponsored by the committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, who also serves as the SK Chairperson of Barangay Carmen and was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
