SP approves on service fee to clients requesting BREQS
THE 20th City Council, during its regular session on Monday, presided by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez enacted an ordinance amending Section 157 under Article (NN): Local Civil Registry Fees of Ordinance No. 12860-2014, otherwise known as the “Cagayan de Oro City Revenue Code of 2015,” so as to impose service fee of ₱50.00 to clients requesting copies of Security Paper(s) using BREQS (Batch Request Entry/Query System).
In her letter, Acting City Civil Registrar Maribel Guzman stressed that the office would like to charge an amount of fifty pesos (P50.00) only as service fee to cover for the incidental expenses like manpower, electricity and equipment.
She further said that the standard service fee charged by other BREQS agent of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) within the city as well as, other cities and municipalities ranges from forty pesos (P40.00) to one hundred fifty pesos (P150.00) depending on the distance.
The legislation was sponsored by the City Council Committees on Ways and Means and on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilors George Goking and Edgar S. Cabanlas respectively.
