SP approves MOU with DOST-X, PSTO-MisOr
DURING its 90th regular session, the 20th City Council enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Science and Technology-Regional Office No. 10 (DOST-X) and the Provincial Science and Technology Office-Misamis Oriental (PSTO-MisOr) for the implementation of the project on the use of multipurpose solar speed drying technology for increased productivity and enhanced food quality of the agri-fishery sector in Misamis Oriental.
In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Uy said the project aims to enhance the productivity of the agri-fishery sector through the provision of ten (10) multipurpose solar speed drying trays. These trays shall support local communities by promoting better and more sustainable income and livelihood.
Under the MOU, DOST-X will implement the project. It will also monitor, evaluate, and document the use of trays and collect relevant data. and provide training and technical orientation to the city and its beneficiaries.
For its part, the city shall allocate space for the multipurpose speed-drying trays within the communities or beneficiaries.
The legislation was certified urgent by Mayor Uy and unanimously approved by the City Council.
