SP approves MOA with DA RFO 10

THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 10 (DA RFO 10) covering the latter’s grant of one unit Hand Tractor/Multi-Cultivator for the Kiapo Palalan Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc. (KIPAFIA).

 

Under the MOA, the DA will conduct the procurement activities in accordance with RA 9184 (Government Procurement Law) and turn over the project to the city as grant scheme upon compliance of all the required documents for distribution to intended recipients. It will also monitor the activities of the recipient(s), including the operation and maintenance of the project, among others.

For its part, the city will submit to the DA RFO 10 the letter of intent (LOI), project proposal and other documentary requirements and secure all legal documents as needed for the project and shall have full accountability to any problem or issue arising from them.

Furthermore, the city will also acknowledge receipt of the project and act as its overseer, and turn over the same to the intended recipient, among others.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees on Agriculture and Cultural Communities and on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual and Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
