SP approves MOA on smart education technology system

THE 20th City Council, during its regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Science and Technology-X (DOST-X), Provincial Science and Technology Office-Misamis Oriental (PSTO-Mis.Or.), Department of Education-Regional Office-X (DepEd-X) and Department of Education-Division of Cagayan de Oro City (DepEd-CDO).

It covers the collaboration of the parties for the pilot implementation of smart education technology system to improve teacher productivity and security of students at selected schools in Cagayan de Oro City.

The City Mayor said the project aims to digitize data management of student records and enhance the security of students.

Moreover, the abovementioned MOA was thoroughly reviewed by the City Legal Office and  found the same to be in legal order, and thus poses no objection thereto.

The legislation was sponsored by the Committees on Education and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba and Councilor Cabanlas respectively.
