SP approves Brgy. Taglimao SK 2023 budget


Through a resolution, the 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Presiding Officer Pro-Tempore Councilor Romeo Calizo, returned as operative the P388,780.00 Annual Budget for this year of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Taglimao.


The said fund was taken from the 10% Development Fund of the Barangay pursuant to RA 10742, otherwise known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015, for the implementation of the programs and projects for the youth of the barangay.


Given priorities in the said budget are programs for quality education concerning health, environment (environmental protection/climate change adaptation) and global mobility. The SK also allocated funds for capability building (active citizenship), youth employment and livelihood (economic empowerment) and payment of personal services, honoraria, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses, and other programs aimed at achieving a better quality of life for the youth in the said barangay.


Councilor John Michael Seno, chairman of the Committee on Sports and Youth Development expressed his support of the adopted resolution after seeing it is in accordance with the law and that implementation of the programs and projects will help a lot in the development of the youth of the barangay.


The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on Sports and Youth Development and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilors John Michael Seno and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
