SP approves Batinay ECCG accreditation to LSB


The 20th City Council on its regular session Tuesday adopted a resolution accrediting the Batinay Environmental Conservation Communal Garden (ECCG) for purposes of its membership in the local special bodies (LSB) pursuant to DILG Circular No. 2022-083 and Article 64 Rule XIII of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the 1991 Local Government Code or funding its project from the city or other sources as required under the COA circular pertinent thereto.


Batinay ECCG was organized in 2020 as an affiliate group of MINSAC-CDO. The organization seeks to establish fishpond, grow fruits and vegetables for additional income of—and sustain the household needs of—its members. It also aims to plant trees and practice eco-friendly technologies to conserve, protect and rehabilitate the environment by participating or engaging in various activities and training by TESDA, CLENRO and APO, The Gavel learned.


The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on planning, research and innovation and people’s organization accreditation and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Ian Mark Q. Nacaya and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
