SP approves 2024 SK budget of Brgy. Tumpagon

DURING its regular session on Monday, the 20th City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved a resolution returning as operative the 2024 Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) annual budget of Barangay Tumpagon, amounting to ₱507,155.

The SK budget is sourced from the barangay's 10% development fund, in line with Republic Act 10742, also known as the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015. Of the total budget, ₱358,500.00 has been allocated for youth development and empowerment initiatives focused on education, health, governance, environmental sustainability, peace-building and security, active citizenship, economic empowerment, and agriculture.

Additionally, funds have been earmarked for personal services for SK members, as well as for maintenance and operating expenses, including travel and office supplies.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committees of Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
