SP amends cmte membership

* Pascual, Emano elected members of Health cmte;

Gaane, Emano join Agriculture cmte

COUNCILORS Jay R. Pascual and Yevonna Yacine B. Emano are now members of the City Council committee on Health and Health Insurance chaired by Councilor Maria Lourdes S. Gaane.

This, after the City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez adopted a resolution electing them as additional members of the committee.

Legislators likewise elected Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Yevonna Yacine B. Emano as additional members of the committee on agriculture and fisheries and cultural communities chaired by Councilor Jay Pascual, amending the composition of its membership.

The health and health insurance committee is tasked to study, investigate and report on all matters concerning health and social health insurance, measures seeking the prevention and cure of diseases, and the implementation of universal social health insurance for indigents as well as the maintenance, operation or expansion of the City Health Department, City Hospital, all health centers throughout the city and the City Health Insurance Office (CHIO).

Meanwhile, the agriculture and fisheries and cultural communities committee is tasked to study, investigate and report on all matters or proposed ordinances or resolutions related to agriculture, food production and agri-business, agricultural economic research, soil survey and conservation; agricultural education and extension services; animal industry and livestock quarantine, farm credits as well as matters dealing on farmer relation to landowner and program on comprehensive agrarian reform, among others.

Councilors Gaane and Pascual are the proponents of the resolutions.
