SP adopts ethics comm’s decision to complaints vs brgy officials

THE 20th City Council, during its regular session on Monday, presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, approved separate resolutions adopting the order of the Committee on Ethics and Blue Ribbon, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, on administrative cases filed against officials of Barangays No. 26 and Lumbia.

The said complaints for administrative adjudication were for grave abuse of authority, and violation of Section 3(E), (J) of Republic Act No. 3019, otherwise known as Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practice Act.

The committee dismissed both cases, citing that the complaint against the barangay official of Brgy. 26 has no legal basis, while the case filed against the barangay official of Lumbia lacks merit.
