SP adopts CDO’s ELA 2022-2025

The 20th City Council on its regular session yesterday, presided over by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, adopted a resolution approving the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) of Cagayan de Oro City for the term 2022-2025.

In his letter to the City Council, City Mayor Rolando A. Uy said the ELA was formulated pursuant to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Advisory dated August 5, 2022.

Following the order, City Hall conducted a series of consultation workshops with civil society organizations (CSOs), city executive department managers, and the members of the City Council.

The collaboration of these offices was guided by the mutual aspiration to sustain the development and growth of the city and its people for the next three years amidst the social and economic challenges triggered primarily by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ELA formulation process and its sectoral goals were both guided by and based on the development goals and objectives set out in its Updated 2020-2025 Comprehensive Development Plan-Comprehensive Development Investment Program (CDP-CDIP).

The fully devolved functions under the Devolution Transition Plan (DTP) 2022-2024 were also considered in the identification of legislative interventions to complement the efforts of the executive department.

These interventions are addressed according to the prescribed five (5) sectoral concerns namely Economic Development, Social Development, Environment Management, Infrastructure Development and Institutional Development, The Gavel learned.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on planning, research and innovation and people’s organization accreditation and on laws and rules both chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya.
