SP accredits four CSOs for CDC membership
DURING its regular session Monday, the 20th City Council passed separate resolutions accrediting four Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as members of the Committee on People’s Organization of the City Development Council (CDC), in accordance with Ordinance No. 14334-2022.
The accredited organizations are Zone 2 Riverside Landless and Homeowners Association, Medalla Milagrosa Homeowner’s Association, and Pag-asa Western Kolambog Landless Association, with offices located in Zone 2, Cugman, Zone 1 Centro Kolambog, Lapasan, and Western Kolambog, Lapasan, respectively.
As duly accredited members, these organizations will receive adequate financial and non-monetary support from the city government to further their mandate and are empowered to raise funds through legitimate means to support their activities.
They will also actively participate in the planning of local government projects and programs, assist in mobilizing public participation in local development efforts through their representatives, and fulfill other responsibilities outlined in Ordinance No. 14334-2022.
The legislation was sponsored by the City Council Committees on Planning, Research and Innovation and People’s Organization and Accreditation as well as the Committee on Laws and Rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Ian Mark Q. Nacaya and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
