Sacala welcomes Lanao del Sur youth leaders to CDO

SANGGUNIANG Kabataan (SK) Federation President and City Councilor Kenneth John Sacala warmly welcomed young leaders from the province of Lanao del Sur during a courtesy visit held at the City Council Session Hall, as part of the activities of their 1st Ranaw Youth Conference.

The delegation included Local Youth Development Officers, SK Federation Presidents, select members of the Regional Youth Development Office, and representatives of the Local Youth Development Council.

“Thank you for making Cagayan de Oro your second home,” Sacala said, emphasizing that this is not the first time young leaders from Lanao del Sur have visited the city to learn from the best practices of the Oro Youth Development Office and the youth-centered legislative efforts of the 20th City Council.

Mr. Jamil Faisal S. Adiong, Head of the Ranaw Youth Development Office, expressed his appreciation to the city government for the hospitality.

He lauded Cagayan de Oro as a city where “discrimination is not welcomed,” and shared their enthusiasm in learning not only about the local government unit’s model programs for youth development but also from two selected barangays that they were scheduled to visit after the courtesy call.

When asked how he overcomes the challenges of being the youngest among seasoned councilors in the City Council, Sacala responded that he sees himself as a youth representative who is open to learning from his colleagues while also advocating for landmark legislation that advances the welfare and development of the Kagay-anon youth.
