Sacala to city scholars: Serve and inspire

“Serve with passion and inspire with excellence.”

This was the keynote message of SK Federation President Kenneth John Sacala during the KATIG: Scholar’s Camp Wave 3, a City Education and Development Department led event, held last October 25 to 27, 2024, at the Pilgrim Christian College and the Gardens of Malasag Eco-Tourism Village.

Sacala underscored the importance of education as a powerful tool to unlocking the potential of the city scholars to become future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of the city and the nation as a whole.

“Embrace challenges, persevere through obstacles, and strive for excellence, for your hard work will soon pay off,” he further stated, motivating the scholar-leaders to commit to their personal and academic growth.

The KATIG: Scholar’s Camp, held annually, is designed to foster self-discovery and enhance the leadership skills of city scholars, also called ISDA (Iskolar Sa Dakbayan) as an allusion to the tale of the Oro fish.

This year’s camp was also graced by the chairman of the City Council Committee on Education, Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba.
