Rain or shine: Cagayan de Oro unveils first-ever Higalaay Festival Market

Despite the rain, the 20th City Council, led by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, joined Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand launching of the first Higalaay Festival Market at Rio de Oro Boulevard-Isla de Oro on August 9, 2024.

 

Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, the 2024 City Fiesta Committee co-chairperson, spoke on behalf of Mayor Klarex Uy and expressed excitement for the event.

 

“Daghan kaayo taga-Cagayan de Oro nga gapangita og matambayan, and what better place than here at the boulevard for our Higalaay Festival Market,” he said.



Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, the 2024 City Fiesta Committee co-chairperson, spoke on behalf of Mayor Klarex Uy and expressed excitement for the event.

 

Councilor Pascual encouraged all Kagay-anons to support the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) participating in the Higalaay Festival Market. He also extended his gratitude to the organizers and business owners for their involvement in making the event a success.

 

The Higalaay Festival Market is a celebration of the rich culture and vibrant community spirit of Cagayan de Oro City. It also showcases the best local products and culinary delights the city has to offer.


The Higalaay Festival Market runs from August 9 to 31, 2024, and is open daily from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
