Proposed sewerage treatment plant and fish landing area, not a sufficient facility – Nacaya
"THIS facility is not sufficient to handle all household water discharges," stated Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya during the regular session deliberation on the proposed construction of a sewerage treatment plant and fish landing area in Barangay Bonbon.
He made this observation as the 20th City Council enacted ordinances allocating funds for the full payment of just compensation claims, including documentation and registration expenses, of lots to be affected by the projects.
Citing regulations against sewerage emptying into rivers, Nacaya proposed forming a committee to oversee the entire project. He raised concerns about potential problems, particularly with handling household discharges in the area.
‘I’m worried that if, for example, there is only one department, and not an inter-department (committee) that would oversee the entire program, that would perhaps entail a huge problem kay discharge ra ba ni sya sa (mga) households. Maybe this comment may be forwarded to the Committee on Environment and on Laws and Rules, so that we could see the entire activity of the executive (department),” the councilor further pointed out.
