Proposed green building ordinance up for review
The committee on planning, research and innovation and people’s organization accreditation, chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, is set to tackle the proposed ordinance adopting the Green Building Ratings System and Regulations.
The proposed ordinance aims to ensure environmental sustainability of buildings, reduce its negative impacts to health and environment and consequently drive market transformation.
Authored by City Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez, it seeks to implement the standards of the Philippine Building Code to ensure the rights of every Kagay-anons to a “balanced and healthful ecology in accord with the rhythm and harmony of nature” as stated in Section 16 Article II of the Philippine Constitution.
