Planning Comm to tackle MOA with LDCU
The City Council Committee on Planning, Research and Innovation, and People’s Organization Accreditation, chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, is set to tackle the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be entered into by and between the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and Liceo de Cagayan University (LDCU).
The MOA covers the establishment of a collaborative framework between the two parties in monitoring the ambient water quality of the rivers of the city, consulting on policy formulation, conducting joint research and development activities, and raising awareness among communities along the rivers.
Under the agreement, LDCU shall establish and maintain a team of qualified experts to conduct the monitoring of the ambient water quality of the rivers, collaborate with the City in formulating policies and guidelines for the rehabilitation and maintenance of river ecosystems, lead joint research and development activities, including the collection and analysis of data related to the river ecosystem, among others.
For its part, the City shall provide necessary access to the rivers and relevant data for monitoring purposes; support joint research and development activities by providing relevant information and resources; actively participate in the formulation of strategic plans based on the data collected and analyzed; and support and participate in the dissemination of information and awareness campaigns.
