Pascual supports DA’s Babay ASF Swine Sentinel program

COUNCILOR Jay R. Pascual, chair of the City Council committee on agriculture, attended the Babay ASF Swine Sentinel Program held recently at the Iponan Barangay Plaza.

During the program, nine barangays were given three pigs each and feeds good for forty days. The animals will be subjected to monitoring, surveillance and reporting system to check whether or not the ASF in the said barangays are already contained.

The program aims to create an effective ASF monitoring, surveillance, and reporting system, intensify the practice of biosecurity measures in all hog farms, and assist in recovering the hog industry of the country, The Gavel learned.

Councilor Pascual said he is hoping that all will go well with the program and that it will greatly benefit farmers and city residents.
