Partnership of JRBGH with Civil Defense Office renewed

The partnership of the city government of Cagayan de Oro through J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) with the Department of National Defense – Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region X, will continue.

This as the 20th City Council during its regular session, Monday, presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez authorized City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the OCD for the renewal of engagement by the OCD employees for the medical and psychosocial healthcare services provided by the JRBGH.

During the recent meeting of the Committee on Health, a representative of JRBGH explained that part of the performance-based rate of the agency is to be affiliated with the hospital through an agreement.

In his letter to the City Council, Mayor Uy expressed his intention to welcome employees and officers of OCD to avail healthcare services of the city government, saying medical and psychosocial services nowadays are crucial.

Under the MOA, the OCD shall refer its employees in need of the said healthcare services to the JRBGH. Employees and officers of OCD who will avail of the JRBGH services shall pay their bills directly to JRBGH.

The MOA was reviewed and favorably endorsed by the Committee on Health, Nutrition, and Health Insurance and on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
