Pagatpat SK 2024 budget gets council nod

THE Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Pagatpat is set to implement its programs and initiatives for 2024, following the approval of its ₱357,395.57 budget by the 20th City Council during its 105th regular session.

The budget will fund a range of programs, projects, and activities aimed at fostering youth empowerment and active community participation, in alignment with the objectives of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2015 (Republic Act 10742). The law mandates that 10% of a barangay’s annual general fund be allocated to SK-led initiatives that promote leadership development and socio-cultural engagement among the youth.

Out of the total budget, ₱200,000.00 has been earmarked for socio-cultural activities designed to engage and uplift the youth in Barangay Pagatpat. Additionally, ₱157,395.57 has been allocated for the renovation of the SK office, ensuring an enhanced and more functional space to serve as a hub for youth activities.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and the Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
