P2-M special education fund for DEPED-10 approved
THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy, to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education (DepEd)- Regional Office 10 to transfer P2 million from the Special Education Fund to the latter.
The amount will cover expenses incurred during the DepEd NorthMin participation in the 2024 Palarong Pambansa held in Cebu City on July 05-17, 2024 particularly for the athletes’ intensive training and sports equipment.
The purpose of this MOA is to comply with Section 4.1 of Commission on Audit (COA) Circular No. 94-013, which reads: “The Source Agency shall enter into an agreement with the Implementing Agency for the undertaking by the latter of the project of the former”.
In his letter, Mayor Uy said the expenditure of public funds for the said DepEd activities was duly appropriated and approved by the Local School Board.
The legislation was sponsored by the Committees on Education and on Laws and Rules chaired by Councilors Suzette Magtajas-Daba and Edgar S. Cabanlas, respectively.
