Oro Dads set up Special Health Fund
The 20th City Council, in its 45th regular session last Monday, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, created the Special Health Fund (SHF) through Ordinance No. 14593-2023, where all funds for health services under the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law will be deposited.
This, after Mayor Klarex Uy certifying as urgent the passage of said ordinance. It was gathered that the city was chosen as one of 33 provinces and cities as Advance Implementation Sites (AIS) in the country for the gradual roll-out of the budget by the National Government under the law.
The Gavel learned that the created SHF is a trust fund account of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro pursuant to Republic Act 11223 or the UHC Law.
The ordinance also authorized the City Treasurer to open a trust fund account for the SHF at any branch of the Land Bank of the Philippines in the city.
