Oro Dads request EO for All Soul’s Day, All Saint’s Day visiting hours

THROUGH a resolution, the 20th City Council in its regular sessionrequested City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy to issue an Executive Order regulating the visiting hours in all public and private cemeteries in Cagayan de Oro City during the All Soul’s Day and All Saint’s Day as recommended by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO).

This, after Councilor Romeo V. Calizo, chair of City Council Committee on Public Order and Safety, manifested the request of COCPO in consideration of their deployment from election period to the commemoration of the said occasions.

It may be recalled that on October 17, 2023, in a meeting conducted by the committee, operators and administrators of private and public cemeteries and memorial parks agreed to set the visiting schedule from 6:00AM to 10:00PM to ensure the orderly and safe commemoration of these important occasions from October 31 to November 3.

Calizo also recommended that the last acceptance of visitors shall be at 9:00 PM so that at 10:00 PM no visitors should be inside the cemeteries and parks. The legislation was approved by all members of the City Council.
