Oro dads approve SK budgets for five barangays
DURING its 113th regular session, presided over by Presiding Officer Pro Tempore Councilor Romeo V. Calizo, the 20th City Council unanimously declared as operational the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) annual budgets of five barangays—Brgy. 34, ₱415,895.00; Camaman-an, ₱4,631,860.00; F.S. Catanico, ₱599,684.00; Macasandig, ₱3,340,156.00; and Puerto, ₱2,101,678.00.
The SK budgets include funds for honoraria, maintenance, and other operational expenses (MOOE), which include costs for travel, training, office supplies, fidelity bond premiums, membership dues, contributions to the SK Federation, and other necessary expenditures for programs designed to empower the youth in various sectors, including health, economic development, environmental protection, education, peacebuilding, social inclusion, governance, global mobility, and active citizenship.

For youth participation programs and youth center initiatives, SK Brgy. 34 has allocated ₱181,700.00, which includes the #YOUthMatter seminar focused on sexual health education and mental health awareness. SK Camaman-an has the highest budget allocation of ₱4,150,000.00, with a major focus on educational programs, such as academic assistance project for students and free printing services for all youth in the barangay.
Meanwhile, SK F.S. Catanico has set aside ₱325,000.00 for youth programs, including a sports festival and cultural dance events as part of their barangay’s festival celebrations. SK Macasandig has earmarked ₱2,075,000.00, prioritizing leadership training and workshops under its active citizenship programs.
SK Puerto, on the other hand, has distributed its ₱1,065,000.00 budget across nine committees, with the largest share allocated to initiatives under the Committee on Active Citizenship.
