Oro dads approve SK Brgy 31 budget

DURING its regular session on Monday, the 20th City Council passed a resolution approving the 2024 Supplemental Budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay 31 amounting to ₱710,875.14.

Of this amount, ₱665,000.00 has been allocated for various youth development programs. These include health initiatives such as HIV/AIDS awareness seminars, a teenage pregnancy seminar, and first-aid training. In the field of education, the "Tugkaran Ko, Limpyohan Ko" SK educational assistance program will be implemented. Environmental efforts will focus on disaster risk reduction and management training, alongside a tree-planting activity. For peace-building and security, the SK will conduct information campaigns and seminars under the "Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo" program.

Additional initiatives include leadership training, sports activities like basketball and volleyball leagues, the celebration of "Linggo ng Kabataan", a general assembly, and the year-end "Pasko sa Kabataan" evaluation. These programs aim to empower the youth through active citizenship and capacity-building efforts.

The said legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John D. Sacala, and Committee on Laws and Rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
