Oro Dads approve SAIP No. 3 for CY 2023
In Monday’s regular session, presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, the 20th City Council adopted a resolution approving and/or adopting the Supplemental Annual Investment Program (SAIP) No. 3 for CY 2023 of the City Government of Cagayan de Oro.
The SAIP No. 3 (2023) was prepared to contain programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) for implementation in the year 2023 to sustain the delivery of services to the people of Cagayan de Oro City through efforts supportive of responses to effective and efficient management of city government services.
It is intended to sustain the development efforts of the City Government as embodied in the RISE CDO development agenda. Its preparation was guided by, and consistent with the provisions of Section 105 (i) of Republic Act No. 7160 (Local Government Code of 1991) on local investment programming and in conformity with Local Budget Circular No. 112 dated June 10, 2016 (Budget Operations Manual for LGUs, 2016 edition).
Out of the total 2023 SAIP No. 3 budget of P4,518,140,124, a total allocation of P4 billion is intended for the Cagayan de Oro Government Center, specifically for its Land Acquisition, Land Development, and Construction of the New City Hall Building Complex.
Another appropriation in the amount of P17,853,593 shall be reserved for various barangay empowerment programs; P11,200,000 for City Hall Quadrangle Roofing; and P10,000,000 for the ten (10) new positions created for the operation of the City College of Cagayan de Oro under Ordinance No. 14564-2023, among others.
The City has also allocated an ample amount to support the operation and maintenance of CDO River Boulevard, particularly the hiring of a total of twelve (12) security guards who will be tasked with preventing and deterring crime therein.
The rest of the appropriations shall be intended to finance other significant PPAs for the General Public Services Sector and Social Development Services Sector, The Gavel learned.
The legislation was certified urgent by City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy and duly endorsed and reviewed by all members of the City Council.
